identity of an Art Student Poster

Information Graphics Unit started out with a task that was really good fun! in groups we had to create a poster that refects the identity of an art student! this was hard and we only had groups of two because our class is so small! I generally don't work well in a team as I find my mind often goes in different directions than others, but myself and Ellie worked really well together! we were both enthusiastic and excited and our ideas were flowing! We first created a mind map to get some of our ideas on paper, but we decided eventually rthta we both really liked the "Hunger for Knowledge" idea. We figured that as art students we all want to know more and this was our starting point. We played with the idea of using food to create a piece of art (like the old pasta art we all have created as kids) but we decided it would be more fun to make a meal using techniques we have learned in our course! We made hand made paper and used it as lettuce, a blob of red paint for ketchup and we took one of our art history essays and cut it into strips and curled the strips to make curly fries!we also took a photo of a roll using the scanner (can you tell that was my idea??) We decided to print the words "hunger for knowledge" around the edge of our card plate, and Ellie's genius idea of putting some of the letters backwards to represent that we don't quite have a full understanding of Art. we also created a place mat full of images of Art we found inspirational. All in all it was really good fun and we were really pleased with the results! here is Ellie's blog
