Surface Design

The start of this unit we all were to create quick sketches of various botanical subjects and then to take them a bit further and see where it goes.

I then went back to my printmaking sketchbook and decided to take my much loved cabbage mono-print and use that some how. I started bu scanning it in and blowing it up.

I then cut cycles from these large cabbage prints and placed them on the scanner

It looks like planets! :D I think I like this image as is so I chucked this image on a couple of furnishings to see how it would look as is.

It looks great on a white background too but I think it loses its newly found space look...
